About
Avid software developer with extensive experience designing software across the stack, beginning in 2015 — skilled in IoT, embedded development, .NET, Python, C++, Linux, and cloud architecture.
Founded my first company in 2016, building mobile applications for small businesses and local government. That led into IoT as Lead Developer at Lederbord, a startup building wireless, app-controlled LED scoreboards, where I designed multiple iterations of embedded firmware and native iOS/Android apps, and built out device management and OTA update infrastructure at scale.
After graduating from Colorado School of Mines, I continued in IoT at Chevron, building a .NET application for device management and the cloud infrastructure to process telemetry at scale. From there I moved into cloud architecture and DevOps — modernizing infrastructure to enterprise standards, improving security posture and performance, and leading a project to move a high-volume HPC simulation workload to object storage, cutting costs by 50%.
Experience
Software Engineer — Chevron
Building end-to-end IoT solutions on Azure (IoT Hub, Device Provisioning Service, serverless Functions, Time Series Insights), with DevOps pipelines and automated device provisioning via Azure DevOps and Ansible.
Lead Developer — Lederbord
First hardware prototype and app development lead for a wireless, portable, app-controlled LED scoreboard startup — embedded firmware, native mobile apps, and fleet device management at scale.
Software Development Intern — Tyler Technologies
Backend contributions to a large ERP codebase for K-12 schools using C#, Angular, and SQL.
Colorado School of Mines
Taught and developed curriculum for a Python lab pilot program (later CSCI102), TA'd Intro to CS, and mentored incoming CS students.
Projects
A few projects, most of them built and shipped with an AI pair programmer.
Offline-first PWA for timing labor contractions — one primary start/stop button, a timeline of past contractions sized by duration, and steppers for correcting a contraction's length or the gap between two.
A daily terminal briefing — weather, headlines, and market data, all in one command.
My personal containerized environment — an opinionated Ubuntu image with the tools I like using bundled in, starting with vim and updateme.
Ansible automation to rebuild my Hermes agent server from scratch once it inevitably breaks — spin up a new instance, pull in customizations, move on.
